So I flew into London to start my journey a couple days ago. Such a beautiful town! I spent some time the first day looking around...
First I hopped on this SWEET double decker bus! Once I did, the town turned all grayscale... odd... but it made the bright red bus stand out, so I guess it was cool. First thing we saw on the bus: Big Ben!!!
London Bridge is falling down!!! Just kidding... it was very much still standing strong and super cool to see! There was a bunch of people bungy jumping off into the water, but I was too chicken!
St. Paul's cathedral was beautiful! It was designed by Christopher Wren, probably Britain's most famous architect. I was exhausted by the time I finished climbing the 535 steps leading to the Golden Gallery at the top of the dome, but it was totally worth it! Such an amazing view of London from the top! And the excercise was a great way to start off my jogging journey across Europe!
Ahhhh.... Westminster Abbey. I've always wanted to see this place! So many fascinating historicalpeople buried here. So many coronation and weddings to add to its rich history!
That night I strolled around the lovely lit up city. I was super excited to start my journey the next day!
The Queen was super kind and let me stay the night at Buckingham Palace that night. She even let me wear a tiara to breakfast the next morning so I felt just like a princess!
And then this nice boy named Harry took me to a parade after breakfast. He was sweet, but not really my type. Potter is more my type of brittish Harry. Wizards so beat princes any day. ; )
At the parade, we saw these gaurds with totally rockin' hats. Although rumor has it that the Minister of Defense met with a representative of PETA to discuss a more bear-friendly alternative.
Look at the cute balloons Harry bought me!
It was sad to leave such wonderul city like London, but I was excited to start on my journey across Europe! Next stop... Croydon, England, 10.9 miles south of London.
